A printable companion activity will provide space for students to show calculations, record answers, and organize the mathematical reasoning used throughout the five-planet mission.
π οΈ How to Play
Select Start Mission to launch from Earth. Students travel through five hostile planets and must solve three mathematics problems on each planet before escaping to the next destination.
Enter an answer and select Check Answer. A correct response advances the mission. An incorrect response provides feedback and allows another attempt without ending the game.
Use the built-in Sound control when working in a quiet classroom. Select Full Screen for the most immersive 16:9 experience. On phones or small tablets, rotate the device to landscape orientation.
π Mission Structure
The escape room contains 15 total review problems: three questions on each of five planets. Planet progress indicators show how many problems have been completed before the next launch sequence begins.
Launch, travel, landing, and return-to-Earth videos connect the problem sets into one continuous mission. Students must complete every planet to reach the final Mission Complete screen.
The activity is not timed. Students can focus on mathematical reasoning, retry incorrect answers, and complete the mission at an appropriate pace.
π 7th Grade EOG Skills Reviewed
The second Planet Escape mission combines proportional reasoning, rational-number operations, expressions and equations, geometry, statistics, and probability in a mixed review format.
Fractional rates: Use fractions to determine unit rates and extend proportional relationships to new time intervals.
Triangle and supplementary angles: Apply the triangle-sum theorem and a straight-angle relationship to determine an unknown angle.
Surface area: Calculate the total surface area of a rectangular prism from its dimensions.
Circumference and radius: Rearrange the circumference formula to find a circleβs radius.
Complementary angles: Write and solve an equation for two expressions that form a right angle.
Evaluating expressions: Substitute values into a rational algebraic expression and follow the order of operations.
Percent applications: Calculate a 15% tip and determine the total cost.
Vertical angles: Set algebraic expressions equal and solve for a variable.
Proportional graphs: Use a constant rate from an earnings graph to predict income for a larger number of hours.
Volume of pyramids: Apply the volume formula using a rectangular base and perpendicular height.
Experimental probability: Use observed spinner results to predict outcomes for a larger number of trials.
Fraction operations: Evaluate an expression containing addition and multiplication of fractions.
Box plots and IQR: Determine and compare the interquartile ranges of two data sets.
Equations with rational coefficients: Solve an equation involving a negative fractional coefficient and the distributive property.
β¨οΈ Answer-Entry Tips
Type final numerical answers directly into the mission terminal. Common formats such as currency symbols, degree symbols, measurement units, decimals, and equivalent fraction forms are accepted for appropriate questions.
Enter fractions with a slash, such as 7/4 or β1/2. For unit-rate questions, students may enter the requested decimal. Complete calculations on paper before submitting each answer.
Students may select a problem image to enlarge it. Select the close control or the dark area outside the image to return to the mission.
π§βπ« Classroom Use
Use Planet Escape 2 as an end-of-year review, test-preparation station, partner activity, enrichment challenge, or whole-class projected mission. Students can record calculations on paper while entering final answers into the game.
Headphones are recommended for independent use. The sound control can mute all game audio, and the credits screen identifies the third-party audio used in the mission.
For the best display, use a modern browser and select Full Screen. The escape room maintains a 16:9 presentation and uses letterboxing rather than stretching the mission graphics.
